The total fire ban, which had been in place in North Hastings County since 10 July, has been lifted.  Camp fires are now permitted between 7p.m. and 7a.m.. No marshmallow will be safe!!

Only two weeks to go before some of you arrive for the Summer Games! That's great, and we're really looking forward to seeing all of you over the coming weeks. One concern is that we have been under a total fire ban for several weeks now. It's unclear how long this will continue. The good news - it's dry and warm, and the lake water is sitting at about 25 to 26 degrees. The bad news - if the fire ban continues, it will affect the Marshmallow Eating Contest! (No camp fire means no marshmallow toasting.) Don't worry, though. The contingency plan is to shift this particular event from the Summer Games to the Winter Games - for this year only, of course!
