Announcement: The "Eddie the Eagle" Trophy

The adjudicators are pleased to reveal the new "Eddie the Eagle" Trophy, for winter sports competitions; and to announced the winners for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 winter seasons.

    "Having read the Wikipedia page about this “Eddie the Eagle” character, I’m unsure whether to be honoured, confused, or insulted to be awarded the 2017/18 trophy. It is a fine looking trophy though, so for now I’ll cautiously accept it.

    I’d like to thank the hosts for supplying an excellent venue and equipment, my skating coach Ashley, Youtube for the zamboni inspiration, and the mysterious adjudication panel for whatever it is that they do.

    Gracious words, Matt. And let's not forget that "Eddie" set a pretty high bar in many respect - he became the British ski jumping record holder, ninth in amateur speed skiing (106.8 mph (171.9 km/h)), and a stunt jumping world record holder for jumping over 6 buses. You're in great company, really!
